Have you ever noticed that the important things in life usually don’t happen by accident?
Spending time with God is the same way.
If you don’t decide when you’re going to meet with Him, life will get busy…and before you know it, that time is lost.
The first step to building a real quiet time is simple:
Decide when you’ll do it.
Morning, afternoon, evening…there’s no right or wrong answer.
Pick a time that works for you to start (it can always change later).
For me, I like to do it in the mornings because it sets the tone for the whole day.
Usually, it’s after I get back from the gym. I’ll grab my Bulletproof coffee (yes, I drink coffee with butter in it 😲), head into my office, and spend that first intentional time with God before the demands of the day start pulling at me.
It’s a simple routine – but it’s one of the most important parts of my day.
Maybe for you, evenings work better. That’s okay.
It’s not about a perfect schedule. It’s about being intentional in your relationship with God.
When you decide and commit to it, even if it’s just starting for 10 or 15 minutes, you’re telling God, “You’re a priority in my life.”
And He honors that.
“Come near to God and he will come near to you.”
– James 4:8 (NIV)
You don’t have to get it perfect. You just have to show up.
Have an amazing day…and start it with the One who makes it matter.
