Hope your week’s off to a great start!
This is part of the short series I’m writing on how I do my quiet time.
After I’ve spent some time in the Word and made my declarations, I open up my journal.
I keep it simple.
First, I just jot down a few quick thoughts about the day before. No pressure to write anything deep. Just a few highlights, things I want to remember happened, or things on my mind.
Then I move into gratitude.
I write: “Lord, thank You for…”
And I list five things. No less. Sometimes more.
Sometimes they’re big things. Sometimes they’re really small.
It could be anything from an answered prayer to just thanking Him for coffee ☕😋
But either way, it helps shift my focus and start my day from a place of appreciation of what God’s done (and is doing) in my life.
Like all of the elements of my quiet time routine, this little rhythm makes an ongoing impact.
And it doesn’t really take a lot of time.
I’m not trying to impress anyone. I’m just showing up to be with God.
Try it tomorrow.
You don’t need a perfect journal. Just an open heart and a few honest lines.
Hope your morning’s a good one!
David
