I’ve been sharing how I spend my quiet time with God – here’s another part of that.
One of the first things I do in my quiet time is this:
Start with praise and worship.
Sometimes I’ll sing along to a worship song.
Other times I’ll just have soft instrumental music in the background while I take the time to talk to God…actually talking to Him out loud.
This time is not about performing or checking off a box on my to-do list.
It’s about thanking Him, honoring Him, and just expressing my love to Him.
Some examples:
“I love You Lord.”
“Thank You for everything You’ve done, continue to do, and always will do.”
“Holy, holy, holy.”
“Worthy, worthy, worthy.”
This time isn’t about rushing through a routine.
It’s about being with Him.
And this falls in line with how Jesus taught us to pray in Matthew 6:9:
“Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.”
If you’re looking for a worship song to sing along with during this time, here’s the link to one of my favorites:
Honor Him first…and watch how that sets the tone for everything else.
Have a great day!
David
