Hope you’re having a great week!
Continuing the series on how I do my quiet time, I wanted to share two things that often happen during this last part of the routine.
After journaling, gratitude, and time spent listening to God, I’ll ask one simple question:
“Lord, what do You want me to do today?”
Then I’ll let the Lord give me direction for my day.
Sometimes it’s what not to do.
Sometimes it’s a reminder.
And it’s always, what to actually do and focus on.
It’s funny that He never has me doing as much as I think I should be doing 😁
This is about letting the Holy Spirit guide me so I’m not trying to do everything in my own strength or based on my own plans.
After that, I stay in that quiet space… but shift gears a bit.
This next part is creative time.
Still listening. Still quiet. But now I ask,
“God, what content do You want to give me today?”
Then I just start typing out whatever I hear the Holy Spirit giving to me.
This is where a lot of my newsletters and YouTube videos start.
It’s not just brainstorming… it’s receiving.
I even have a section in my journal for it.
These things might sound small, so they’re easy to skip… especially when you’re ready to start the day.
But I can’t tell you how many ideas or priorities I would’ve missed if I hadn’t taken these few extra minutes.
Your to-do list can wait. Trust me.
Try it tomorrow. Ask for clarity. Ask for creativity.
You don’t have to be a “creative” to hear something creative from God.
See you next time,
David
