How Do You Handle Pressure?

How Do You Handle Pressure?

Do you blow up or shut down when the least bit of pressure is applied somewhere in your life?💥

Having been in sales for many years, I’ve learned that pressure is a constant companion.

If you’ve been in sales, you know what I mean. The looming quotas, the end-of-year crunch, the relentless pursuit of monthly or weekly targets – with the knowledge that if you don’t perform, you don’t get paid.

I’m sure your job, business or ministry has its pressure points as well.😶

And as we know, pressure isn’t exclusive to our careers; it can seep into every aspect of our lives, from navigating rush hour traffic to dealing with unexpected issues at home.

Now pressure isn’t necessarily a bad thing (that’s external), but the resulting stress or anger is (that’s internal).

The question is – how do you handle the pressure when it comes? Because as we know, in this life it WILL come.

Do you react out of a carnal human nature or respond out of a Christ-like Spirit nature?

Recently I’ve had to deal with the temptation to react to pressure in my job.

Additionally, technical glitches provided some untimely pressure to potentially react poorly at a recent speaking opportunity.

In both instances, I believe I responded in a positive and faith-centered manner, primarily because I was adequately prepared.

But this isn’t just about my personal journey, it’s about yours too.🫵

It’s about taking a moment to pause and reflect on how you navigate the pressures of your own life.

Are you quick to react out of frustration and fear, or do you respond out of the peace and wisdom of a Christ-like spirit?

You have the power to choose how you deal with life’s challenges…from the flesh or the Spirit!

When I started writing this, I was not intending to reference my recent video on peace, but it seems to be an appropriate place to do so.

I invite you to take a moment to watch the video and use these Bible verses on peace to proactively train yourself ahead of time to respond in faith, instead of react in fear or frustration when pressure comes.

Speaking scripture on a consistent basis is how I’ve trained myself to more positively respond to things in faith…not that I’m perfect, but I’ve come a long way!🙌

Hope that helps prepare you for the next time you’re under pressure, so that you come out shining like a diamond!💎

PS – Remember – God is good…and life should be too!

📖 Scripture of the Week

For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Romans 8:6-8 (NKJV)

🗨️ Quote of the Week

“It’s not what happens to you that determines how far you will go in life; it is how you handle what happens to you.”
